Project Blueprint is designed to train more volunteer leaders of color (African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans and other racial minorities) to have a greater voice in the community by having more opportunities with boards and committees. This program provides participants with the knowledge to serve effectively through gaining new skills, experiences and the confidence essential for these roles.

  • September 5, 5 to 7 p.m. – Board Governance and the Responsibilities that Follow
    • This session provides a comprehensive exploration of board governance, focusing specifically on the fiscal and ethical responsibilities of board members within various organizational contexts. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the roles, duties, and best practices associated with effective board governance

  • September 12, 5 to 7 p.m. – Cultural Sensitivity and Public Policy
    • This session delves into the intersection of cultural sensitivity and public policy, recognizing the profound impact that policy decisions have on diverse communities. It examines how cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and practices shape individuals’ experiences and perceptions of government policies.

  • September 19, 5 to 7 p.m. – Strategic Planning and Resource Development
    • This session offers participants a comprehensive understanding of strategic planning and resource development processes within organizations. We will explore the components of a strategic plan, including a board members part in creating one or maintaining one, and why resources such as fundraising or community partnerships play a role in its success.

  • September 26, 5 to 7 p.m. – Panel and Project Blueprint Award Ceremony
    • The last leg of the course is where we give participants the opportunity to listen to our panel of board members. From 5 to 6 p.m., appetizers and refreshments will be enjoyed over inspiring and motivational panel. At 6 p.m., we will start our programming to celebrate all the participants who are now equipped to make a mark on Stark County by joining a local organization’s board.
