Project Blueprint is a leadership development program designed to empower individuals from different backgrounds and experiences to take on meaningful roles in nonprofit leadership. The program provides participants with knowledge, skills and connections to serve effectively on boards, committees and in other decision-making spaces.

  • Cohort meetings held at The Goodwill Ken Weber Community Campus (408 Ninth St. SW, Canton)
  • The cost for the program is $200. *Payment will be made online.
    • Scholarships may be available.

Project Blueprint welcomes anyone passionate about making a difference in their community, especially those who are new to leadership roles and experiences. If you’re eager to drive change, influence decisions and contribute in a more impactful way, this program is for you.

  • April 3, 5 to 7 p.m.
    • Topic: Cultural Sensitivity
      Learn about policy and advocacy’s role in shaping society and promoting social change.
      Speaker: Lori Stokes
    • Topic: Board Governance
      Learn the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors and what it takes to be an effective board member by contributing effectively to the governance of organizations and ensuring they are managed with integrity, accountability, and a focus on achieving their mission and goals.

  • April 10, 5 to 7 p.m. 
    • Topic: Public Policy
      Learn policy and advocacy’s role in shaping society and promoting social change. Through policy and advocacy, individuals and organizations can influence government decisions, raise public awareness about important issues, and encourage the adoption of laws and regulations that benefit society.
    • Speaker: Erika Anthony
    • Topic: Fiscal and Ethical Responsibilities
      Learn the board’s role and responsibilities of legally mandated fiduciary duties. Uphold fiscal integrity, compliance, and ethical standards in managing resources and making decisions that advance the interests of stakeholders and the organization.

  • April 24, 5 to 7 p.m. 
    • Topic: Strategic Planning
      Gain an understanding of how you can effectively lead or contribute to the strategic planning process within organizations, helping to ensure their long-term viability, competitiveness, and success in achieving their mission and goals.
    • Speaker: Mark Plaster
    • Topic: Fundraising and Resource Development
      Learn how to effectively lead or contribute to organizations’ fundraising and resource development efforts, enabling them to secure the necessary resources to advance their mission, programs, and impact on the community.

  • May 1, 5 to 7 p.m. 
    • Event: Panel and Project Blueprint Award Ceremony
      The final event will feature a panel of board members, followed by an inspiring discussion. From 5:00 to 6:00 PM, enjoy appetizers and refreshments while engaging with the panel. At 6:00 PM, we will honor all participants who are now equipped to make a difference in Stark County by joining a local organization’s board.
